The key to sharpening any cutting tool is removing the steel at the edge while maintaining a consistent angle between the blade and the stone. Spyderco’s Tri-Angle Sharpmaker takes the mystery out of this process and enables anyone to sharpen a knife effectively with just a few minutes practice. Its durable ABS plastic base contains keyed holes that accurately set the stones’ sharpening angles at a 30° (15° each side) or 40° (20° each side) for sharpening knives. Simply keep the plane of your knife’s blade vertical and draw the edge along each stone to sharpen. It’s that simple. For serrated blades, use the rounded edges of the stones and a slightly looser grip to allow the stone to flow into the recesses of each serration.

Firstly a huge thanks to Thomas Tools for providing a flawless service. From the ordering of the item to delivery everything went great. The sharmaker arrived in excellent condition, and well packaged. The instructions on how to use the sharpmaker are very comprehensive, well illustrated and simple to follow. The great thing is you can use sharpmaker on practically bladed tool. The sharpmaker works brilliantly. I throughly recommend it.

GREAT BEGINNER FRIENDLY SHARPENER
Been looking for an easy sharpener for ages, no regrets buying the Sharpmaker and my blades and scissors and very very sharp now. There is a learning curve of course, took me 3-4 days of continuous sharpening and trial and error to get it right (a lot of my knives have screwed up edges and bevel due to to bad sharpening in the past, hence longer time to getr it right in the sharpmaker). Thomas Tools sells these cheapest in the land, they will really price match you if you can find listed cheaper in Malaysia. Long story short, a little on the pricey side (for me) but once I got it and actually started using it, money damn well spent, and this is going to last years. Now I am considering getting the additional diamond/extra fine rods.
